HRUSO KIDS.

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

All of my friends from my recent trip have been asking for some photos so I decided I would post some of the kids in the village, Hruso, we were working with in Eastern Ethiopia.  Me and some of the other volunteers became human jungle gyms as we literally had kids hanging of our limbs pretty much 100% of the time. Playing with kids, building schools, not too shabby…..

EDITING!!!!!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Well, I’m back from Africa. I am somewhat rid of jet lag, even though I was existing solely because of giant cans of Red Bull over the past few days.  Tonight was the first time I’ve got to sit down and even glimpse at some of the footage and photos from Africa, along with everything from Nick + Julia’s wedding yesterday.

All in all, I have about 137 GB of stuff to go through in the next few weeks. Needless to say, I’ll be posting lots on here in the next little while.

Gambella woman

A photo of one of the local women on my first day in Gambella, Kenya where we were working on a project with the Borana people.  The Borana are a pastoralist ethnic group who inhabit parts of northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia, and are one of the poorest ethnic groups in the world.  Spending time in their village was an amazingly warm and eye-opening experience.  As a group and personally relationships grew with the locals and by the end it was tough to say goodbye.  Goodnight from Nairobi, more tomorrow.
