I, along with 3 other photographers, shot this video on September 12th outside the Vancouver Art Gallery in Vancouver. It was a flash mob style UFC fight on one of the busiest streets in Vancouver. It was shot with four Canon 5d Mark II’s and I edited it in Final Cut Pro. The video was shot for Versus Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness www.versus21.com/ an awesome gym located in Gastown. I can’t wait to get in there for some kickboxing lessons!

So, after picking up Tara from Sea-Tac from an incredibly tiring 2.5 hour drive to Seattle, I had to stop in for a pint to check it out. If you are ever in Seattle, stop in for a drink, the bar staff is great, there are books everywhere, one of those old ladder bookcases, great Scotch and Bourbon varieties, and it is kind of fun browsing through all of the random books. (The waitress named Stop the Insanity by Susan Powder and a random set of 70′s encyclopedias with faded photos as her favourite browing material.) I am definately lifting a few ideas for the future when I make my own bar. (A guy can dream, right?)

I’m always amazed by how many places there are in close proximity to Vancouver that I have never been to. I have spent the last 24-48 hours coming up with the best way (or, really, just anyway that works) to deal with the 1080P footage and huge still files that come out of my new 5d Mark II. It’s a total pain in the ass but I get that is what comes along with the quality you get out of this camera. I guess I’ll just load up on new external hard drives.
