THE PSYCHOPATH TEST.

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

I was hired to shoot psychologist Robert Hare for the NPR show All Things Considered a few weeks ago. The story finally has aired, it was a really interesting story to be a part of.

Robert Hare, the psychologist who created the PCL-R test for psychopaths, at first resisted giving the checklist to people in the criminal justice system. But he ultimately agreed to publish the test officially so anyone could use it.

YES, I STILL TAKE PICTURES…

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

I have been shooting a fair amount recently but just haven’t been keeping the blog up to date with my work. Just more a general lack of interest in spending more time on the computer than absolutely necessary. Anyways, here are some shots from on top of Grouse Mountain I did the other day for the Globe and Mail. Got to whiz around on a ski-doo all over Grouse, it was a tough day for sure!!!

SPIDER ROBINSON.

Monday, November 8th, 2010

For the Globe’s new One Big Idea this week, I photographed author Spider Robinson. Check out the discussion, which happens online today at 1pm, here: http://tgam.ca/BFG6

Author Spider Robinson’s One Big Idea to make Vancouver a better place is to make drugs available to anyone who wants them under controlled, safe conditions – and so clean up the city’s most troubled intersection, Main and Hastings.

DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE.

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

I was sent down to Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to shoot some photos for the Globe & Mail the other day, and ended up meeting up with Vancouver PD constable Sherman Soo as he was walking the beat. While I was following Sherman, all I could think about was my favourite TV show The Wire. The dealers, the fiends, the cops, everything is constantly going down and although at times depressing and saddening, it is a fascinating part of our city.

KARA LANG.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Kara Lang, an amazingly talented soccer player who plays for the Canadian women’s Olympic and World Cup soccer team, as well as the Vancouver Whitecaps, came to me to get some photos taken for her personal website last week. We wandered around Acadia Beach, part of Wreck Beach, and I tried to avoid getting naked people in the backgrounds of my pictures (I had some success). She was an amazing person to have the opportunity to photograph, I think her personality and beauty come through in the photos. It was one of the easiest, funnest shoots I’ve had in a while.

I was up in Whistler shooting Crankworx this past Saturday for the Globe & Mail. Huge crowds, a massive party, and some epic mountain biking.

TERMINAL CITY ROLLERGIRLS.

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

On Saturday I cruised back to Vancouver from a short two-day holiday down in Washinton state to photograph the Terminal City Rollergirls Championship Bout for The Globe & Mail. It was an action-packed night, was fun to photograph and looked like the crowd had a great time. The photos were for the front of The Globe’s BC Section yesterday.
