RICK HANSEN – THE MAN IN MOTION
I had about 3-4 minutes to take this picture, which is always the challenge when working for newspapers. But, having a small amount of time, and very few locations to chose from, I was pretty happy with what I got. I wanted a nice simple image a man who is considered to be a Canadian hero. He mentioned about trying to get me out sometime when he goes Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River, (one of his other passions) and I really hope I can get the chance to do it.

Saturday marks the 25th anniversary of the start of the Man in Motion World Tour, where Rick Hansen wheeled more than 24, 000 miles across 24 countries. Brett Beadle for The Globe and Mail
lucky you got to meet one of the greatest canadians.
That shallow depth of field really makes this shot…somehow adds a whole lot of weight to the image. kudos to you!
I really love the way you’ve made his hands as prominent as his face. That really tells a story. Powerful.
he comes in my bakery sometimes, lovely man, great photo brett
Chris went sturgeon fishing with someone that knows him just a month ago and Rich Hansen was out on his boat fishing at the same time so Chris got to chat with him and see his boat and how it accommodates his wheelchair and stuff. He thought it was pretty cool….
